ARMA Website Traffic

Postby Webmaster » Fri May 16, 2003 12:34 pm

Everybody,

I just thought I'd let y'all know a little bit about how well our website is doing recently. We were doing a little analysis and found out that the site has been averaging over 1,646,000 hits per month since last October, with a high of 1,885,000 in March. It seems you folks are doing an awful lot of reading.

In addition, the search engine guy I work with tells me that we have a Google "page rank" of 7 out of 10, which is very, very good (Yahoo, Amazon and the White House are examples of tens). Although only Google knows all the details, I can tell you that page rank is based on things like link popularity, site traffic from searches, regularly updated content (in other words, an active site), and relevance of the content. This doesn't mean we come up number one on everything, but it does mean we come up early and often in search results. If you weren't aware, Google is now far and away the most important search engine out there. That kind of rating from Google is very nice to have, and serves, to some extent at least, to validate our importance in the online community.

In short, gentle readers, your dedication to continual research and learning and making this site the valuable resource that it is by reading and contributing are being rewarded with greater reach and influence in the online world. It just goes to show what good scholarship is really worth.

Man, that's cool, and thanks for all your hard work keeping the site updated and running smoothly! This site is by far the most relevant and useful online resource for WMA enthusiasts worldwide.

One thing to remember too is that given that there are no discussions on politics, pets, movies, personal issues, etc., those 1,646,000 hits per month represent only a pure interest in WMA swordsmenship.

Truly excellent! It goes to show just what commitment can do. As Randall pointed out, our website (and organization, for that matter) is dedicated to WMA and those who visit this site know that this is the information they will receive.

Thanx for the information, Stacy.
