ARMA Central NY

Postby Ray Brunk » Sun May 18, 2003 8:11 pm

Just got back from a great training session with the Central NY Study group. Once again I have met an awesome group of ARMA guys. Sully did a great job of the leading the pack. Being new to the ARMA, it was great to have him review the basics and give us new drills to practice. We had a chance to get in some 1 on 1, 2 on 1 and 2 on 2 sparring. He gave out a perfect amount of information that we could retain and practice with until our next meeting.(John Olikisicz and I live 3 hours away).
We trained at the International event site, and got a chance to walk around and get a feel for the setup. Beautiful countryside, spacious and multiple terrains. Sully is putting a ton of work into this and it is really going to pay off. Anyone still contemplating on whether they are going should really step up and register.....this is going to be a big one!!!
Thank you Sully, Mark, Chris & Ken for taking the time to guide us,
Ray

Yes, a great training day! I'm licking some wounds. It was GREAT to meet new ARMA members from the area of Central and Eastern New York. I was impressed and taken back on how dedicated Ray and John are to ARMA. They where already sporting 4 Replicas and one was a sharp. Ray flew all the way to Florida to attend Mike Cartier's Workshop with JC. The 1-1, 2-1, 2-2, free play was great! I hope you guys enjoyed yourselves. Another Great ARMA day and more to come, it only gets better

P.S. If you would like to see Mark get teamed on by Ray and myself with some good backup and 100% from Ken privately e-mail me...ARMA Members only please.

Yea, it was a great day, extreamly nice weather and it was a pleasure to spar with others instead of just getting beat on by Sully. (I'm sure he cheats some how though) hehe.

Dutch,

You have really improved. It shows that your training on your own. You stay in your wards and stay on the attack. I have a few war bruises from you, I guess that makes us even for your hand. Your looking good Dutch, keep up the great training. Was it me or are Ray's arms as big as my waist I wonder how Mark's sides are feeling?

Thanks for coming out Dutch after working a night shift...training... and then going back to work. Real dedication!

I forgot to give you guys your certificates.

Oh oh oh, well tomorrow I'm going out to pick up some wood so that I can make a heater shield (using JC's book of course for refrence) Though I do hope you won't mind a bit of art work on the face of it. Such as my familys coat of arms. I may as well make use of the steel as it was ment to be since it seems to be more of a one handed blade.

Yes do, be proud of who you are and your family history! I know John O. was excited about the shield work which we will concentrate more on. The PBS Warrior Challenge "Viking" episode showed some great shield work and test cutting, instructed by Mr Waller, who I would love to meet.

Sully,
Your not kidding about John O being excited about the sword & shield. He talked about it half the way home. I've been told that we will be making a few shields very shortly.
