Sully what you say is not impossible, Irish people came in Italy of North early in the medieval times because we were not Christian and when soldiers came and asked us to be such and pay taxes we uasually answered with an axe betwen the eyes <img src="/forum/images/icons/wink.gif" alt="" /> So Irish monks and common people came to accomplish the mission to bring the right religion in our savage land, we were more friendly to them than to others, because they did not mention taxes among other things and because they were Celtics as we were.
I heard that many surnames starting with De' might have an Irish origin, being the modification of Irish ones (so De' Liberi...), but it's just a theory <img src="/forum/images/icons/wink.gif" alt="" />
