Louisville 1.0 anyone?

Postby Andy Spalding » Tue Feb 19, 2008 2:17 pm

Hello all,
I've been working on getting a 1.0 going in Louisville Ky this year. I have a good number of new people that should attend the 1.0 but the nearest one is in WI. Quite a drive for us. Because of this we have decided that it would be a good time to possibly plan one a few months down the road.

The date we are working from is June 14th and 15th. We are trying to get John up here to teach it.

In addition to this, i have been in contact with the Frazier Historical Arms and Armor Museum in Louisville and we have worked out a way to have the event IN the museum itself. We would be offered a tour of the facility as well.

What i am lacking is enough people to pull this off. I already have a pretty fair chunk of people who have said they would come if we can get the price down to a resionable amount (about 50 bucks). To do this i would need to know if the surrounding study groups and members at large are willing to make the trip to Louisville. This whole event pretty much hinges on getting enough ARMA members out to support it.

You can PM me about it or get a hold of me though ARMA Murray's email ARMA.murray@gmail.com..

If you are thinking about coming or would like more information just drop me a line. We are looking for all sorts of interest and the sooner we can get people to say they will come the sooner we can get a count and set the definite price.

Hoping to hear from you soon!

Hey Andy,
I've submitted my application for membership in the study group, so I'm definitely hoping to attend the 1.0. I had a ton of fun with you guys on Sunday, and I'm hoping that I'll be able to get back there March 2nd. Hopefully the wind won't be so blasted strong.

Uh, would this be a place to get my first interaction with the group, and see if I really want to start, yaknow, practicing this in real life? I would love to come socialize with you guys... see if I can find some people who can start teaching me, heh...

I think I could get a few people to show up if we could get the cost down. How many people do you think you'll need? I've got at least two that would be interested, possible as many as 6 or so.

Hey Andy,

Any update on when and where? I will plan on being there and maybe bring a friend.

I'm interested, I don't expect to be working at that time. Depending on the cost, I could bring a couple of youth.

We live in Breckinridge County. Between Leitchfield and Hardinsberg.

All right guys, you've had some time to think it over. Are there any study groups out there planning on coming out for this?

Hey all, We have decided that we are going to have to cancel this event. We need more people to show out than what we currently have. I will probably keep plugging the idea, giving people more time to think about it, and maybe we can pull something off next spring. For now, lets look at getting to the Columbus event! It should be quite a good time.
