Ok, I might have been a bit harsh in saying "any". I did get a pretty positive impression from one sensei on the Karate episode that he would have done the show regardless of any spin.

Basically, it's just my opinion that you frequently have to agree to show people in a positive light to get a high degree of cooperation from them, or at least give them that impression. From observing the show, I got that same impression from some of the various teachers they've had on as well. To tar them all that way is unfair though, as some gave me a very positive impression of their attitude, in that they seemed to think their skills spoke for themselves.

I caught the Muay Tai episode last night, and I was pleased overall. What that one instructor said, about that weird double uppercut not being effective in the ring, I kind of had a "well that's obvious," like moment but, then I realized that I've trained more than the John Q's out there, and thought different because not every viewer of that show has done some form of martial arts training, and wouldn't be able to tell the difference. I wish they had spent more time on the anicent form of Muay Tai thought, and had more from the guys doing the weapons training. There appeared to be a lot of "flash" in what they were dong but, given the limited amount of footage in the show, and my even more limited knowledge of the system, I would have got restrict any further remarks as suppositions only. Again, overall I was pleased. Given what it is, I think the series does have a good amount of potential, and I am definately looking forward to future episodes.

P.S.
Again, Scott, I am in agreeance with you.

Sorry for posting after a year but I thought I'd let those who don't already know, know that all the Human Weapon Episodes are available a Youtube.com in 5 part series.

Unfortunately the Pankration episode was kind of weak in the sparing, no strikes to the face, thats an insult to the very meaning of pankration.

Anyway just thought I'd let you all know the episodes are there to be watched if you want.

I really liked that intense savate player one fo the guys get as a coach, just like the guys in PH Mairs manual, he remains hardcore despite his choice of clothing :D.

Why don't we get some of the "local" experts in some of the Arma/Hema fighting styles to contact the show (IE, for German techniques, there would have to be a German group, French techniques, for France, etc.)? I looked at the faq, and you CAN send comments to them... surely if we approach them as a community, we might be able to get in touch with relevant people?

"Where do I send comments about a specific show?

It is important to us to receive feedback from our viewers, and we appreciate your taking the time to contact us. If your questions are not satisfied by reading these FAQS, or if you wish to offer your opinions on a particular program, please write to: thc.viewerrelations@aetv.com.."
