We don't fight barefoot so I don't know how socks would help traction. I've got a pair of red socks that I wear sometimes for a red-black-red look and a pair of black socks for red-black. Wearing our colors represent our adherence to the ARMA uniform.

Just uniform colors. We train in shoes. The shorts or rolled up sweatpants legs are just for a touch more mobility. :D

We also have begun to standardize using a red sock on the right foot and a black one on the left...this makes it easy in pictures and video to discern which leg is where.

Huh. And I always thought it was just part of the contest to see who can be the biggest ARMA geek around.
Now I should actually go out and buy a pair of red socks since there's a real purpose. . .
Who am I kidding? For me it would be to fit in with the other ARMAteers.

I find them to be extremely comfortable. I believe everyone will be wearing them in the future.

Yeah, they're so much more comfortable than green, white, or even muave.

My red socks actually make me faster, stronger and give me better fuhlen than any other color socks I have worn. I tried white and they slowed me down, black were too clumsy, and then pink ones...well, they evoked an entirely wrong image of my swordsmanship.

I felt a little odd wearing the red socks at first, but they have grown on me after a while...
