It was AMAZING!!

I had just finished training with a friend of mine at the Rec Center here at college, but I had missed the bus so I was walking home. There I was with my fencing mask in one hand and my quarterstaff sticking three feet out of my fencing bag when I hear "what is that?". I turn to see this guy on a bike turning around. I explained my gear, and told him I did European Martial Arts, and he was interested. Then I told him that I belonged to ARMA, and he ACTUALLY KNEW WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT!!! This is the first time that's happened, and I know that's not really what this page is about, but I wanted to tell somebody. So now you know.

In 2008 I was flourshing with a waster and using a heavy bag for a pell on the far side of the world. A guy approached me and told me about historical fencing. He then asked if I had ever heard of ARMA. :D

I was in the airport in Cincinati coming back from a training weekend. Two older women were staring at me. One of them walked to the side of me, and said "excuse me are you Aaron Pynenberg from ARMA?"

I was shocked! She and her sister were from the SCA and are fans of ARMA's videos. They recognized me from the videos and thanked me for all that ARMA does.-!

In addition to being a martial arts organization ARMA is also an educational organization. Finding that knowledge about these arts and about ARMA are spreading seems to be well on topic.

His name is Miguel Rucoda, but as for where he heard about it I didn't get to that I had to hurry home since I missed the bus.

Some guys watched us during our workout Monday. Afterward, Jonathon and I went over to talk to them. They turned out to be SCA rapier fencers. One of them knew about ARMA and had been to the website. Both were open minded and interested in what we were doing, altho they weren't potential recruits. But they weren't hostile about our practice and we weren't hostile about theirs.

A couple of years ago I worked with two other ARMA members at a Home Depot. One of the other members and I got into a conversation about swordsmanship with another coworker and he immediately asked us if we were in the ARMA! I had the same reaction as you.
