Getting Started near Chicago?

Postby Edward Barton » Wed Jun 02, 2010 9:51 am

Hello,
I'm currently stationed in Great Lakes, IL for training with the Navy, and am interested in learning how to use a sword.

What are your suggestions?

I've looked at the practice partners list, but it looks like the closest group to me is a 3 hour drive away in Appleton.

Are there any training videos you'd recommend for an absolute beginner?

As far as training locations go, I'm hoping to be stationed in Norfolk, VA in 3-4 months, but could get sent to San Diego, CA.

Thank You
ETSN Barton, USN

Ah, "Great Mistakes". :D You might just wait until you training is done and then see where you end up stationed. There is a Virginia Beach study group and some ARMAteers in California.

Isn't that just an hour away from Milwaukee? I thought there was a study group there (see the practice partners page on this site).
