Though there seems to be a copy or two floating around somewhere it seems to have gone very quiet on this topic?

Is it that people are overly cautious regarding anything associated with the third reich and the fear that it could "taint" WMA through some people making the association with hitler et al? Mere speculation on my part.

Exasperation

Postby Christopher Lee » Fri Oct 15, 2010 5:13 pm

Does anyone have and is willing to share a copy of the hitler youth longsword manual???? I've been trying to find a copy for ages now and while a few people say that they have a copy no one seemingly wants to share. Yes, i understand that there are "sensitivities" but its not like I or anyone else in here is going to take the copy and run off down to the local neo-nazi scout troop chapter and get everyone goose stepping and listening to Wagner!! I don't care if the copy is pdf, jpegs or photocopy and indeed no one need even ackowledge that a copy was shared, i would never speak of it again. So, i do hope that someone out there is willing to share.....

What is this? [chuckle] A lot of people think that ARMA is kindda racist already, do you really need to bring this topic up?

It's like when you look at American movies.... All the people who are open-minded are of European descendants and all the Indians are prejudice and stubborn and don't know what's good for them. You'll be surprised that there are people from other countries just like the heroes on a white horse in a lot of American movies. This is what this topic reminds me of! [chuckle]  Sorry for getting off topic, but I couldn't help it! lol

Yeah, hadn't heard that one? Heard ARMA accused of all sorts of stuff, but not that. Go figure.

Haven't heard that either. Certainly never experienced it.

In any case, if someone gets a hold of the manual I'd like a copy too.

Yeah, i always thought that HEMA was a pretty broad minded and open bunch; you just got in there an did it and didn't really matter what your background was. Like i say, i dunno....

Let's keep it on topic, guys.

Even though I fed the digression at least I requested something related! 8)

I would like to have a copy of this too! If ARMA has this hidden somewhere can you make it available to us?

Doesn't get much more clear than that

It should have been a quick translation and it'd be interesting if there were any genuine insights into the art and not just produced for indoctrination purposes. Maybe the latter is why nothing more has been said about it?

Yeah, i agree; 8 years to translate what i assume is a pretty small document?

I think that it would be a little quicker and more "collegiate" if the original document was made available and individuals could make their own efforts at translation and transcription.

So either there is a copy floating around or there isn't? If there is, what is the issue with sharing it?
