I'm looking forward to this book as well, as I know both the author, the illustrator and Peter Johnsson, who has written some additional material for the book.

We premiered the book this weekend at the Gathering in NY.
Everyone seemed impressed with it. It's very nicely done and very useful. Can't wait for part 2 early next year.

Well I hope you will all like the book, if you have any comments I would appreciate those very much, especially if you disagree with me!
The second volume will include the remaining part of Ringecks manual including the following topics; Wrestling, sword &amp; buckler, wrestling in armour, spear in armour, half sword in armour, armoured fighting on horseback. We will begin teh work on teh illustrations etc in september and any suggestions for improvements are welcome. And again a great and sincere THANK YOU to John for all the help, suggestions and for being just a bloody nice bloke.

I have received my copy now, and this far it looks promising. The illustrations are easy to understand, and having trained a bit with David as instructor, I recognize several techniques. The chapters by Peter Johnsson provide a lot of good info, too. The book itself is hardbound, which is good for durability. I guess this book will see a lot of use.

gah, I'm sitting there reading the Ringeck stuff here on the ARMA site yesterday and Brian walks in with this book.

It's got pictures, footwork illustrations and everything.

David, the techniques are clearly presented and easy to understand. I'll be giving a seminar here in Tallahassee on sword work soon (hope to recruit some people) and I plan to use many techniques from your interpretation. Good work.

Yah, this book is great! I read almost the whole thing on my drive back from New York (when I stopped for gas and a breaks...not while I was driving <img src="/forum/images/icons/crazy.gif" alt="" /> ) and finished it up soon after returning home.

A deffinate must have for people without a study group or just one study partner.

Also, for those of you who were at the Int. Event and took Bart's "advanced longsword class"...all of the winden and binden stuff we worked on is in there. <img src="/forum/images/icons/cool.gif" alt="" />

Bart's class was a big eye opener for me. I couldn't believe how close it was to Ringeck. The influence of master Liechtenauer is wide indeed.

I'm really looking forward to the new book too.
