Arizona Study Group?

Postby Guest » Fri Jul 11, 2003 3:03 pm

I recently moved back to Arizona from Utah and am looking for people to study with.

I've seen that there are only a couple ARMA members in AZ, both seem far away from me (Mesa [northeast])

So, I'm just looking for anyone or any like-minded group out here to get in touch with. I've got a few friends.out here who know people who do something that might resemble sword fighting, but I have yet to contact any of them.

Any comments or leads are *very* appreciated.

I am also _very_ interested in participating in a sword study group in the East Valley (of hell minor ), however work scedule has just cleared up enough to do so if I can get transportation (my Ramcharger is immobile in the carport as the bus system--sucks)

Anyway, I like the ARMA style and opinions, even the opinions that cause controversy. Before age catches up to me, I would like to become a "swordsman" (I'm 42, reasonably fit)

Within the valley there is a branch of Tattershall-I haven't witnessed them so I have no opinions one way or another(www.tattershall.org), or contact Roger Siggs (jhaelen@hotmail.com or 623.570.1542), they have/do meet Thursdays evenings.

for a less formal group in east-east Mesa jim_transue@yahoo.com">jim_transue@yahoo.com, they meet Sunday mornings, 7AM. Again, I haven't been there so I can't personaly vouch for them.

Would you be interested in starting a provisional group in Mesa? I can be emailed at <a href="mailto:lionofnarnia@yahoo.com.

Thanks for the leads! I'm sending an e-mail your way, and BTW, I've already contacted some splinter SCA group (I've got their card around here somewhere, don't remember the name, ECS?) and have found a few interested people. Things are looking okay, hopefully in a month we'll be on our way to... hmm, I'm not sure what, be we'll be able to practice with a fair sized gorup if all goes well!

Sweet, I'd forgoten about him. I'd feel alot more confident teaching what I know so far with him there- also having someone I've worked with often and trust to show how things should work would be great too.

Yeah, I think I'm giong to start a "provisional" group and see if we can get some dedicated regulars out here. I'm only here until november, but it'd be great if there is enough interest that if I get people started over the next few months it can continue one without me. If Eli can study with us, i'm sure he'll be around longer than I and can keep it running, hopefully.

ARMAteer, I like that.
(I guess his plans to make it to new york never materialized)
