Training and swords in China

Help!

Have moved to China and I am now desperately looking for continue practise longsword etc in the Shanghai region. Also customs did not allow me to bring my practise swords :cry: so I cannot even practise the swordplay on my own in a decent way.

Anybody know any clubs or people in Shanghai?

Any tips on how to bring in blunted practice swords to China without smuggling?

Well, according to Albion in Us it should b e ok but I also spoke to Albion Europe and they strongly advised against it. Apperently its not legal to bring it in to China and there is a big risk that the customs confiscate it.

Well sorry man I wish I could help, you might have to make some wooden wasters but I know this doesn't solve your problem. :(

There is a guy named Lance Chen (link follows) in Hong Kong. He is closer to the area (albeit not on the mainland) and might be able to suggest some resources for you.

aren't some of the manufactures of swords in China? Paul Chen comes to mind. May not be as good to have to use them and buy in China but maybe if already there can buy there? just a thought.

Some Chinese martial arts do use weapons. You might ask them how they legally get theirs.
