nice article. being fairly new to this myself, it was definately an interesting read. i thought the part about people not liking ARMA was pretty timely, what with the recent discussion about sport fencing around here.

i've often wondered how far along i'd be after a year of study. i hoping to make major progress over the summer, since i don't have to study

Nice Article Erich. Your experience echos my own quite a bit. My first seminar was a real eye-opener! I had been practicing alone and with our then fledgling study group but seeing John and the senior students performing the techniques correctly and with so much energy was like a bright light bulb coming on. I went home realizing I had a lot to learn but I was really fired up. Thanks for your story.

That is a really nice article. I am both surprised and not surprised at the number comment elements that I, and probably all of us, share with Erich's experience.
