Jeff,

I've only skimmed your very detailed article, but it seems to be a very impressive piece of scholarship. Congratulations on it and thank you for all the hard work that you obviously put into it! It is work like this that helps to advance our understanding and practice of western swordsmanship.

By the way, what does the abbreviation UT stand for? It preceded "slahan".

Matt:

Thank you kindly.

"UT" stands for "Urteutonisch" -- another way to say "Proto-Germanic".

Good luck,

Fascinating,

could you possibly post the weights and measurements of the gear you used in lbs and inches? I'm afraid my U.S. public school education has left me real hazy about the metric system....

Hey Everyone!

My apologies for a few editing mistakes that I let slip through. The web-master corrects any that I should find, and hopefully all were found, so I hope that I caused no undue confusion to you readers. Thanks!

You know what would be a nice addition to the website...if we had printer friendly format for these articles. I'd really like to have this one (and many others) in paper format I can keep in my files and take and read when im waiting places and the such. Just an idea.

I agree with Allen. I happen to do my online research from libraries and will often print articles only to find that some of them are ruined as far as my being able to read them later as they only print a portion of the article.

Love the info, it's just much easier to study and share with my kids later on when I can print.

Hey, ye olde ARMA webmaster has made the amendments needed and so I invite one and all to peruse the thesis again. Hopefully any confusion caused by those dumb errors of mine is now eliminated by the corrections recently made. Good luck! JH
