Hello Sean,the silicone gun-cloths are indeed servicable for swords as you surmise.

Where can one find linseed oil? And does it come boiled or do you do that yourself?

go to your local hardware store. It will be in the paint/wood stain/sealent area. It will be labeled "boiled linseed oil", and it is used as a wood sealent.
