Hi,
I recently had a visit here in New Orleans from a friend Pedro who lives out in the Czech republic. Pedro spent a day training and sparring with our informal fencing practice group and showed a great deal of aptitude for historical fencing. He sparred well and instantly learned all the basic guards from Ringeck, and performed the eight cuts almost perfectly after one day. He has been training as a boxer for some time and is interested in pursuing WMA now that he has been exposed to it.
I'm trying to find an active Western Martial Arts or Historical Martial Arts group that he could participate in, in the Czech republic or somewhere near. Czech, near Prague or in Bohemia would be ideal though. He does also speak fluent Czech so that would not be a problem.
By WMA / HEMA I mean only groups which do real training based on the Fechtbuchs, and include full-contact sparring. I'm not looking so much for re-enactment, SCA, stick fighting, or classroom only schools, or "kata" only schools which do not put their training to the test by sparring.
If anyone could provide me with any information it would be appreciated. Please post here or PM me.
