Hey Aaron

If you drill 3/4inch hole in the pommel you could make a jig and buy some lead sinker's at Wal-Mart and melt them down, you can do that on the kitchen stove in a cut off coffee can, if you use the same 3/4inch and drill a hole in wood it will hold about 4 ounce's of lead and basicly fit right in the pommel hole just let them cool and glue them in the hole with a urethane glue that is basicly what i did with my homemade waster and you can add more weight if you need to or want to by making the pommel bigger, then you can heat the plastic and weld another one on top to cover/hide weight and lead is denser than steel so it will take less and you can make a jig and melt it and make it whatever shape you desire right at the house unlike steel.

Jeff

P.S. i like fishing sinker's because i can control the weight a little easier and i can use the stove at the house.

They look good.
If they are as strong as you said. They may be a perfect core for padded swords.
I just broke my last generation 2.4 and I was thinking to replace the wood slats for some flat PVC or something similar.

If they turn out to have good weight and balance, I would order two. In any case I think you should suggest your resident mad scientist there, to see if he can develop padded ones starting from these wasters.

Keep us posted.

they look just like the nylon material that alot of filling machine and process equipment tooling is made from in factories. If so, it ain't cheap...and would melt with melted lead poured in it...Still, if is, they can be tapped and threaded...and a brass core item can be poured with lead, then threaded down into them and sealed with some expoxy.

Is there going to be more commercial produktion of this! That would be great.

If there is are you going to make diffrent models? Something I realy would like to see is a Rudius (gladius) and a Spatha. Could reeeeeeely do with a pair of those.

Thanks.

What, exactly, is the material? And where might it be found? As a professional woodworker I wouldn't mind taking a shot at making my own.

Put me on the list as an intrested buyer lespaulzoso86@yahoo.com.
Also, any plans to do single handers? Whenever these go to sale, I'd buy a single and longsword.

Yes, this weekend our group will have all the new ones on trial- then they will be available, after Sunday's practice I'll try and post the new versions-there have been a few changes in the materials, then I'll take orders for Eric

- warning he is a perfectionist, so the positive is you always get awesome quality from him hands down the best fabricator I have ever seen. The minus is it may take awhile depending on where you are in the list, but he can now crank out 10 in about two weeks- the price range is between $80-$100 dollars, I am working with him to keep it in the $80 range but he has to justify his costs- more to come within a week- Aaron

Guys I have tried twice now to send out a group emailing on these but someone's address keeps messing it up, so I am sorry if this is innapropriate webguys-

This is the final product-it's a diffrent material, very tough and a little stiffer than the other stuff, very nice feel to them, as close to steel without being steel they slide and flex really nice.

To order: send $100.00 -to Eric Winkler at this address:(do not worry about shipping costs)

Eric Winkler
1504 E. Randall Ave.
Appleton WI 54911

Here's the stats:
Overall length: 47 1/2
Cross length: 9 1/4
Balance point: 6 from guard

Keep them out of temp etremes and clean with soap and water, otherwise pretty tough stuff, just about 99% unbreakable-(at least so far) any questions pm me- thanks

-pictures not working right now stay tuned.....arghhh computers!
