I will be providing more details...swamped at work right now...
We will cover longsword and staff in some depth. There will be demonstration and sparring with dagger and dussack. You can pre-register to get a fencing mask and a staff--the fencing mask will act as a rental, but the staff you can keep if you like. Prices are like this:
Base:
$30 ARMA
$40 Non-ARMA
Add to that...
+$15 if you need a staff--no loaners will be provided, but you can keep this one. An 8' staff of poplar or better is the minimum (that's what this will provide).
+$5 if you need a fencing mask. Unlike the staff, this is only a rental
So, short version, if you're an ARMA member and you have a fencing mask or equivalent helmet and your own staff it's $30 total, for two days. If you're not an ARMA member and you need all that gear, it's $60.
Pretty good either way.
Also, handouts/study guides will be provided for free and T-shirts will be available for sale. The bulk of proceeds for all of this stuff will go to the MSU Study Group, who's doing all of the legwork for this thing. I'm gonna show up, teach my class, spar, and love it.
Prerequisite for this class is a previous understanding of Meyer OR an NTP 1.0 OR at least a few weeks of ARMA classes. I will *not* be going over ochs, pflug, and zornhau (again). The focus of the longsword portion of this seminar will be the application of Meyer's techniques and principles, not rote practice of his "devices" or his ennumerated cuts and wards. The staff section will be introductory in nature, however. If you don't meet these qualifications and you're interested in coming PM me on this board and I'll see if we can work something out.
Oh, and the date is 14-15 April.
