Las Vegas NTP 1.0

Postby ChristineChurches » Sun Dec 09, 2007 12:47 pm

Scholars,
The ARMA Las Vegas Study Group had its first NTP 1.0 in three years on 12/8. We are sorry that we could not invite more of you to attend, however we had convinced SFS Casper Bradak to come down to teach us on fairly short notice and only had room for 12 participants. It was an intense day of study and fellowship - I'm still not sure how we had the energy for all the freeplay the last hour.

Big thanks to Casper - I learned so much this weekend...still trying to figure out how to wipe that evil grin off your face during freeplay....

And also thanks to Seth and Adam from the ARMA OC Study group - it was great training with you, and I hope to see you again soon...maybe on your turf....

Thanks Christine it was great training with you too. I had a WONDERFUL time. Despite the car problems it was still damn well worth coming out. I really enjoyed the training, discussions, and most of all just being around others that love practicing this fighting art as much as I do. Jim was an awsome host for the event and Jeff was one of the nicest and most gracious hosts I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. I also would like to say a BIG thank you to Casper for coming out and teaching at the seminar. I definatly learned more then a thing or two from you Casper I thought you did an excellent job. And indeed that grin of yours there Capser was disturbing but yet in a strange way almost infectious at the same time :D Again, thank you for coming out I really enjoyed hearing what you had to say. Thank you once again as well to the whole Las Vagas group for hosting the event I really had a great time.

Just rub it in, guys. :)

Sorry I couldn't make it myself, but I'm glad we got two at least of our guys out there to participate.

Just in case you guys were wondering, the funeral thing I mentioned wasn't a death in the family, but for the young child of a friend of mine who they thought might not make it through the week (he'd gone into cardiac arrest already once). In that case, it looked like it was going to be on Saturday, and I wanted to be there for him. The other problem was my girlfriend's work emergency. I know Seth mentioned one and I mentioned the other in our emails, so I didn't want you to think one of us was nuts.

Thanks again for the invite, and I hope we can all meet up again soon, maybe, as you said, on our turf.

Thanks Jim and Christine for putting this together. Nice seeing you again Adam and nice to meet you Seth. And damn does LV ARMA got a turn out now! Geoffery, Jeff, Ryan, Stan and Tom. It was great to participate in another 1.0

Every time I go to a 1.0 I learn something or refine something else. (Not that anyone would call me "refined"!)

It is very helpful to have as many people as possible teach you. After having my first 1.0 from Stew here in Vegas, attending the 2005 5th annual in Utah, and the 2007 IG, I still found more from Casper's 1.0 here in Vegas again. Casper focused on a number of things in the 1.0 and hit on a footwork issue that helped. He helped me identify and give voice to a problem I find I have when I get out of practice or out of breath, crossing my feet. If anyone has a chance to take a 1.0 even if you have been to one 10 times before, go to another one, for if you know all of it, you can then learn how to give one.

I wish I could have stayed longer, for lord knows work was not half as exciting. (People kept on looking at me funny when I worked on some of my footwork. Of course, they look at me funny on any given day for that matter.)

Thanks Casper! I know how to wipe the evil grin from your face! All one has to do is take your sword from you. Because if one does, the grin will be replaced by a full blown smile as another Sith is captur...er ... created!('')

Can't wait for the next one!!
